EV-Ready Homes Act (Electric Vehicle Charging), 2025

- Amends the Building Code Act, 1992 to require new houses to be built EV-charger ready
- Applies to new houses under Part 9 of the building code with a garage, carport or driveway
- Requires builders to install a minimum 200 amp panel board in these homes
- Requires a conduit of at least 27 mm trade size with a means to pull cables through
- Requires a square 4-11/16 inch electrical outlet box near the garage, carport or driveway
- Conduit and outlet box must block gas and exhaust fumes from passing through
- Rules apply only to houses built after the section comes into force
