Northern Highway 11 and 17 Safety Act, 2025

- Requires scales and inspection sites on Highway 11 north of North Bay and Highway 17 to be staffed at least 12 hours daily
- Requires the government to ensure OPP traffic enforcement staffing is sufficient to enforce the Highway Traffic Act
- Requires commercial truck drivers to be tested by a Ministry-certified examiner before getting a driver education certificate
- Puts the Ministry of Transportation in charge of managing winter maintenance on Highway 11 north of North Bay and Highway 17
- Allows the Ministry to work with contractors and providers for winter highway maintenance
- Act takes effect on the day it receives Royal Assent
