- Bans leaving promotional materials visibly at private homes, with some exceptions
- Promotional materials include flyers, brochures, leaflets, catalogues and similar items
- Allows materials from municipal, provincial or federal politicians' constituency offices
- Permits election materials from candidates or registered parties only during election periods, if no mailbox exists
- Exempts materials distributed by the Ontario or Canadian governments
- Does not apply to Canada Post employees or agents delivering mail
- Takes effect immediately upon receiving Royal Assent
